The Role

As the Power Systems Capacity and Flexibility Manager you will:

• Lead a team of analysts and engineers to assess long-term electricity supply and demand.
• Oversee technical analysis for resource adequacy planning including capacity requirements for future auctions.
• Build team capability through coaching skills development and knowledge sharing.
• Act as a key point of contact for industry trends providing insights to inform strategic decisions.
• Represent the organisation at external forums working groups and industry bodies.
• Build strong partnerships with stakeholders including distribution system operators and third-party providers.
• Manage a portfolio of projects ensuring effective planning budgeting and risk management.
• Promote a collaborative innovative and proactive team culture.

The Person

We are looking for someone with:

• A degree in engineering economics mathematics or a related technical/analytical field with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of energy markets and/or resource adequacy modelling.
• Knowledge of energy system flexibility such as interconnection energy storage and techno-economic modelling.
• Excellent organisational interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience in leading coaching or developing teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical solutions.
• Experience delivering complex projects or programmes successfully.
• Ability to influence build consensus and work collaboratively across teams.

Desirable:

• Experience in the electricity gas or wider energy sector.
• Knowledge of all-island energy policy and the Single Electricity Market.
• Experience engaging with regulators policymakers or external industry groups.
