Controller (CPA) Private Investment Office
A private investment office is seeking a highly skilled Controller (CPA) with strong tax expertise to oversee all accounting financial reporting and tax-related functions across a diverse portfolio of investments. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations while providing strategic insight into tax planning compliance and overall financial performance. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach strong technical accounting knowledge and experience working in complex multi-entity environments.
What you will be doing-
Manage multi-entity accounting structures including intercompany transactions and consolidations
Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger AP/AR payroll and month-end/year-end close
Assist in accurately preparing the monthly investment reconciliations and ensure the timely distribution of these results and present it to the management
Analyzing investment transactions in conjunction with preparing reports for management
Producing financial data for the management team upon request and assisting with other special accounting projects from time to time
Oversee and review federal and state tax filings including individual partnership and entity returns
Partner with external tax advisors while also providing hands-on tax oversight and planning
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements
Prepare regular financial reports for ownership including performance analysis and key insights
Manage and mentor accounting staff
Serve as a trusted advisor to principals and leadership on financial and tax matters
Who you are-
CPA required
Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field
5 years of progressive accounting experience with private office or public accounting background preferred. Trust and estate background a plus.
Strong expertise in tax planning and compliance (individual partnership multi-entity structures)
Advanced knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and consolidations
Addepar Portfolio accounting experience desired
High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential financial information
