Continuous Improvement Engineer

Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for understanding the current process state
identifying efficiency/improvement opportunities then leading cross-functional team members to drive
process improvements tied to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the business utilizing Lean Six
Sigma principles. Focus areas would include but are not limited to; interval or lead-time reduction
reduction of human errors process re-designs that result in the reduction of the number of steps and
eliminate other forms of process waste.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the plant in 6S initiatives driving a cultural change
Work with department managers/supervisors on 6S changes for their sections take their vision
and direct 6S principles
Work closely with Facilities Manager and Engineer to coordinate installation projects
Standardize processes across plant departments developing Standard Operating Procedures
Implement process management/process improvement initiatives following Lean Six Sigma
principles
Create new self-sustaining processes that include identifying and tracking the appropriate
KPIs
Lead/drive process changes improvements value stream mapping
Champion communication between organizations at all levels
Facilitate cross-functional teams to achieve Kaizen objectives
Work with Process Engineers to standardize Operating Procedures (Work Instructions);
increase workflow efficiency
Follow and comply with all Environmental Health & Safety policies
Work with Operations employees on 6S changes for their departments
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work experience in Lean Six Sigma process application a plus.
Strong analytical skills and deep process orientation
Experience in developing various process documentation (SOP ISO etc.)
Experience in implementing Continuous Improvement methodologies a plus
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
