About the Role
The Associate Vice President for Rewards and Benefits will lead the end to end management of compensation and benefits programmes ensuring they are competitive aligned with business strategy and compliant with local legislation. This role partners closely with global reward teams HR finance and leadership to drive strategic reward initiatives oversee incentive programmes and deliver data driven insights that support a high performance culture and a strong employee value proposition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design implementation and ongoing management of compensation benefits and incentive programmes
- Partner with global reward teams to review and enhance policies ensuring internal equity and market competitiveness
- Conduct benchmarking through salary surveys and industry forums
- Drive annual reward cycles including merit increases bonus processes and equity programmes
- Collaborate with recruitment HR business partners and leadership to define hiring ranges
- Manage short term and long term incentive plans ensuring effectiveness and alignment
- Ensure compliance with legislation and internal governance frameworks
- Develop dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights
- Partner with finance on budgeting forecasting and job evaluation
- Oversee data accuracy and resolve discrepancies with shared services
- Lead benefits benchmarking across pension medical aid and leave offerings
- Manage relationships with external benefit providers and brokers
- Approve monthly pension fund submissions
- Build strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally
- Support resolution of complex employee queries in partnership with HR
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience in compensation and benefits with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capability; experience with Tableau Power BI or Qlik Sense is advantageous
- Excellent communication presentation and influencing skills
- Proven experience working in a global environment
- Strong knowledge of remuneration practices benefits and local legislation
- Experience within IT enabled services knowledge process outsourcing or analytics environments preferred
- Demonstrated ability to drive efficiencies and cost saving initiatives
- Strong negotiation conflict management and relationship building skills
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness
