Job Summary
This position is part of a team of Custodial Supervisors who report to the Custodial Manager and we are currently hiring for two openings. The work schedule is Monday through Friday 2am to 10am.

Essential Functions:
Supervises organizes and directs the activities of custodial staff in residential academic and administrative buildings. Assigns and oversees the work of custodial employees engaged in cleaning and maintaining University buildings and offices.
Conducts quality inspections of custodial work for standard level of cleanliness to ensure facilities are properly maintained.
Trains employees in the proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies; methods procedures and policies; tours assigned areas with employees and indicates duties and responsibilities within each area; provides on-the-job training and review to employees. Ensures standard level of cleanliness at each site.
Monitors custodial performance to standard level of cleaning along with time and attendance. Responsible for web-time entry. Completes performance appraisals including feedback on an on-going basis. Completes all required performance documentation.
Coordinates special projects within work area. Prepares accurate estimates of labor material and equipment costs for daily janitorial services and special projects.
Inventories and orders cleaning supplies and equipment for use by staff; maintains records. Coordinates supply requests by staff approves supply orders and ensures expenses are within budget parameters.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required along with a minimum of three years of custodial work experience and two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Able to work independently with faculty students and staff.
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate feedback effectively to employees.
Familiarity with computers is required and experience with work order or facilities management systems is desirable.
Must have a valid and unrestricted Virginia drivers license.
This position is considered Essential Personnel and must be able to report to campus during weather and emergency conditions.

Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward downward or outward.
Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw drag haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Working Conditions:
The worker is subject to vibration: Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts moving vehicles electrical current working on scaffolding and high places exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
The worker is subject to oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
Types of Work: Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
