Role Overview
Ensure the consistent quality and integrity of T&G premium apple brands (Envy and Jazz) throughout the Singapore market by conducting hands-on quality inspections monitoring compliance with T&G specifications and managing quality-related claims and corrective actions.
The Quality Controller will work closely with the Operations Supervisor to protect brand reputation through coordinating in-market quality assessments early identification of quality issues and effective communication with supply chain stakeholders. This role is critical to maintaining the premium positioning of Envy and Jazz apples and ensuring customer satisfaction across retail and wholesale channels.
The role will primarily focus on the Singapore market with support for Malaysia and Indonesia quality initiatives as required.
Job Description
- Coordinate and perform regular quality inspections at 3PL cold storage facilities and key customer locations (distributor warehouses)
- Check and verify temperature monitoring for 3PL cold chain
- Auditing of 3rd party QCs to ensure T&G standards are maintained
- Document inspection results with detailed reports photos and data using standardized T&G quality assessment tools
- Conduct training and calibration sessions with to ensure consistent quality assessment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of T&G quality specifications grading standards and brand requirements
- Prepare comprehensive quality claim reports with supporting evidence for submission to source
- Track and maintain records of all quality claims trends and outcomes
- Assess quality claims submitted by direct importing markets via validating extent of degradation to ascertain claim settlements
- Provide regular quality performance reports highlighting claim trends root causes and recommendations
- Work closely with Operations team on daily quality matters escalations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Build strong working relationships with 3PL partners distributors and key customers to foster quality-focused culture
- Coordinate with Global Quality team on quality standards claims process and technical support
- Support new staff onboarding with quality training and expectations setting
- Identify opportunities to improve quality outcomes throughout the supply chain
- Recommend process improvements to streamline quality claims management process
- Support implementation of quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions
