Research Intern AI/ML & DH
Data Science and Digital Health (DSDH) function within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Research & Development is seeking a PhDlevel Research Intern to support the development of foundation models for multimodal wearable sensor data including accelerometer PPG ECG and other physiological signals. The intern will work on selfsupervised and multimodal representation learning to build scalable models that generalize across digital health applications such as human activity recognition sleep staging cardiovascular monitoring gait analysis and digital biomarker discovery.

We are looking for outstanding candidate for the Research Intern AI/ML & DH whose responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement selfsupervised learning frameworks for wearable timeseries data.
Train foundation models on largescale unlabelled multimodal sensor datasets.
Develop architectures using transformers contrastive learning masked modelling and crossmodal attention.
Integrate heterogeneous sensors (accelerometer PPG ECG heartrate) using multimodal fusion strategies.
Evaluate learned representations on downstream health tasks (HAR sleep stress gait health outcomes).
Contribute to reproducible research outputs including publications and welldocumented code.
Required Qualifications
PhD candidate in Machine Learning AI Computer Science Biomedical Engineering Signal Processing or other related quantitative fields.
Strong programming experience with Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
Strong technical background in deep learning for timeseries data and selfsupervised learning.
Experience working with largescale datasets and research pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with wearable sensor data and multimodal machine learning.
Familiarity with transformers contrastive learning and masked modelling.
Background in physiological signal processing and digital health applications.
Exposure to timeseries foundation models or largescale model training.
