Job Summary: | The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor (12MO) Tenure-Track. The successful candidate will: - Implement the Colleges philosophy curriculum program outcomes and course objectives through expert teaching.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
- Use innovative active learning strategies in the classroom and beyond.
- Plan clinical and simulation experiences for and provides direct supervision and evaluation of students delivering nursing care as needed.
- Serve as Academic Advisor for students.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback on students performance.
- Grade homework quizzes tests lab assignments clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner.
- Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies and procedures.
- Report to the Executive Vice Dean.
- Direct research of students working for advanced academic degrees.
- Mentor students in evidence-based research and scholarship.
- Conduct research and publishes findings in professional journals.
- Develop a program of research.

Required Qualifications: | - Doctoral Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- New York State Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner License.
- 4-years of teaching experience in academia.
- 3 to 5 years of clinical practice experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Evidence of current scholarship.
- Or a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience education and training.
