Job Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver/Screed Operator to support our asphalt paving operations. This hybrid role is responsible for transporting materials and equipment to job sites and operating the screed on paving machines to ensure proper depth grade and overall pavement quality. The ideal candidate has strong driving experience paving knowledge and a team-first mindset.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Safely operate commercial vehicles (dump truck trailer etc.) to transport materials and equipment
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and comply with DOT regulations
Load secure and unload materials using proper procedures
Operate and adjust the screed to ensure proper depth grade and smoothness of asphalt
Monitor asphalt distribution to maintain consistent mat quality and rideability
Communicate with paving crew and paver operator to ensure efficient workflow
Verify grade and depth using gauges and adjust settings as needed
Assist with general paving duties including equipment setup cleanup and maintenance
Perform routine maintenance on trucks and paving equipment
Maintain accurate logs and report any safety or mechanical issues

Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
DOT medical card (or ability to obtain)
2 years of CDL driving experience (construction preferred)
35 years of screed operation experience on commercial or DOT projects
Knowledge of asphalt paving grades slopes and screed controls
Experience with CAT/Carlson screeds and paving electronics preferred
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments
Strong work ethic reliability and communication skills
