Job Summary
Full-Time 40 Hours/Week Overnight Shift (23:00 07:00)
Excelsior Defense Inc. a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned security firm with 25 years of proven performance is actively seeking a professional detail-oriented Overnight Security Officer for a Class A commercial property. This is a high-visibility accountability-driven position requiring discipline patrol execution and strong reporting standards.
Position Overview
The assigned officer will be responsible for maintaining the safety security and operational integrity of the building tenants and surrounding property through active patrols monitoring and incident will operate independently overnight and are expected to own the post.
Schedule
- Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)
- Overnight Shift: 23:00 07:00
- Includes weekday and weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct hourly interior and exterior foot patrols (garage floors rooftop courtyard entry points)
- Monitor CCTV systems and building activity
- Ensure all doors suites and access points are secured nightly
- Perform building checks (generator room water pumps elevator systems restrooms etc.)
- Identify and report:
- Trespassing / loitering
- Suspicious activity
- Safety hazards or maintenance issues
- Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity reports using company systems
- Maintain a visible presence in the lobby when not on patrol
- Handle disturbances through verbal de-escalation (no physical engagement)
- Contact law enforcement when required
Operational Expectations
- You must stay active-this post requires movement and accountability
- No phone use reading or distractions while on duty
- You are expected to observe report and document everything accurately
- Maintain a professional customer-service-oriented demeanor at all times
Requirements
- Active Florida Class D Security License
- Minimum 1 year security experience preferred (commercial or residential high-rise a plus)
- Ability to work independently overnight
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Must be reliable punctual and professional in appearance
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods and conduct routine patrols across multiple floors
Compensation
- Starting Pay Rate for this Site is $17.75 per hour.
