The PeopleHub is the engine of our employee experience. As the primary shared services arm we ensure that every Toaster (employee) has the support information and seamless systems they need to do their best work. This summer we are looking for a forward-thinking intern to help us bridge the gap between foundational HR support and the next generation of AI-driven operations.
The Team
Reporting to the PeopleHub Manager you will join a collaborative team dedicated to building operational muscle.
About This Role (Responsibilities)
As the PeopleHub Coordinator Intern you will balance high-touch employee support with high-tech process optimization:
- Foundational Support & Pilot Program: Serve as the first point of contact for employee requests to ensure rapid high-quality resolution of HR inquiries.
- AI-Readiness & Knowledge Management: Audit and restructure our internal documentation to ensure it is AI-ready. You will optimize our internal knowledge base to ensure future chatbot integrations can provide accurate instant answers.
- Process Optimization: Identify high-volume manual transactions and human-in-the-loop friction points. You will be tasked with finding opportunities to automate these workflows so the team can scale smarter.
- AI Prompt Engineering: Develop and maintain a standardized library of AI prompts to increase the speed and consistency of our responses to common employee inquiries.
- Systems & Documentation: Gain hands-on experience with key HR systems and contribute to the documentation efforts that allow Toast to maintain a world-class employee experience globally.
Do You Have the Right Ingredients (Requirements)
- Ability to work onsite in Boston from June 2026 through August 2026.
- A strong desire to build a career in People Operations or HR Shared Services.
- Tech-Fluent: You are excited by the prospect of using AI to make work better faster and easier.
- Operational Mindset: You enjoy finding a better way to do things and arent afraid to dig into the details of a complex process.
- Empathy & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for your fellow Toasters.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a pilot environment where your feedback will directly shape the future of our support model.
- Highly organized with a knack for creating clear structured documentation.
