Job Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

  1. Spatial & Environmental Design
  • Provide support for the Creative Director.
  • Accompany and assist the Creative Director during stakeholder and vendor meetings at all areas of the campus.
  • Take detailed notes during meetings take measurements/photos of projects Assist in the conceptualization and visualization of new exhibit spaces pop-up installations and signage.
  • Create renderings floor plans or environmental graphic concepts that align with the museums brand and storytelling goals.
  • Support the design of Guest Journey touchpoints ensuring a cohesive narrative from the parking lot and throughout the museum.
  1. Project Coordination
  • Act as a liaison between the Creative Director and internal stakeholders (Education Archives Museum Marketing Multimedia etc.) to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Maintain project trackers for exhibit updates ensuring assets are delivered on time for print or digital installation.
  • Research décor and materials provide pricing availability stock etc.
  1. Experience Strategy
  • Participate in design charrettes and strategy sessions regarding guest flow and wayfinding.

Research trends in museum interaction design and space exploration history to inform future project concepts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education

  • Current Student: Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Industrial Design Architecture Graphic Design or Exhibit Design.

Required Experience

  • Design Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator Photoshop InDesign). Familiarity with 3D modeling tools (SketchUp).
  • Organization: Strong project management instincts; able to keep track of multiple timelines and details simultaneously.
  • Communication: Ability to articulate design concepts clearly to non-designers and collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Passion: A genuine interest in space exploration history science or museum storytelling.
