In the role of Operations Governance Summer Student you will provide analytical coordination and data quality support to the Operations Governance student will assist with cost tracking data cleanup governance activities and internal role provides practical handson experience with operational cost management fleet data project governance and the use of modern toolsincluding AIto improve workflow efficiency.
Placement Details:
This is a 4-month summer placement starting in May 2026 located in Edmonton AB.
What you will do:
1. Support to Operating Cost Specialists
- Use Excel AI tools and other applications to analyze operational data more efficiently and identify trends anomalies or issues.
- Assist in ensuring accurate operating cost tracking including validating data and helping resolve inconsistencies.
- Support the preparation review and organization of purchase orders and operating project governance documents.
- Help maintain proper coding documentation and data structure to support cost governance and reporting.
2. Support to Fleet Coordinators
- Assist with cleaning validating and standardizing data in the fleet management database.
- Help progress fleet deliverables such as asset updates documentation reporting inputs or tracking fleetrelated action items.
- Support the alignment of fleet information across systems to improve accuracy and completeness.
3. Project Controls Support
- Assist in coordinating project governance responsibilities including collecting documents logging updates and validating project information.
- Support project tracking activities by helping organize data prepare summaries and ensure compliance with governance requirements.
- Provide administrative or analytical support to Project Controls as directed.
4. General Operations Governance Support
- Assist team members with communication materials dashboards and operational metrics.
- Help prepare presentations visualizations or simple reports to support decisionmaking.
- Complete other tasks as assigned to support overall governance financial accuracy and data management
Who you are:
- You are currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program studying Commerce or Business Degree (3 Years preferred) and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles (accruals cost allocation capital vs operating expenses).
- Familiarity with management accounting concepts such as cost centers budgeting and variance analysis.
- Understanding of data structures data governance concepts and how financial information flows through systems.
- Strong excel skills (LOOKUP functions pivot tables data cleaning basic formulas)
- Ability to work with large datasets
- Strong oral written analytical and problem solving skills required.
- Must be customer-focused deadline driven and have the ability to prioritize workloads.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridges core values (Safety Integrity Respect Inclusion High Performance).
Working Conditions:
- Office based role located in Edmonton AB
- Relocation assistance is not provided.
