Job Summary

Description

The Summer Employment Opportunity Program (SEOP) provides temporary summer employment opportunities to children step-children and spouses of Mayo Clinic employees enrolled in a college degree granting program of study and is intended to help supervisors accommodate employee vacation requests when seasonal work volumes are high.

Summer students will utilize AI tools to collect record and document data used to solve complex problems in healthcare. The applicant will interact with clinical and non-clinical data (external data sources digital etc) and may participate in collection of images from residual patient specimens. Candidate needs to have an open mind and ability to take concepts developed by other industries and apply them to healthcare. Candidates should be effective communicators and good team players. Candidates with evidence of interest in data science and who are exploring this as a career path are ideal for this position.

**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.



Qualifications

Must be a child step-child or spouse of a current Mayo Clinic employee.
Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting program bachelors or graduate degree level.
Must be returning to college in the fall.
Must be able to work a minimum of 10 weeks.
Must be 18 years of age or older by the start of the program

SEOP employees should not expect vacation/days-off to be approved during their commitment.

Additional Qualifications:

Written and oral communication skills are essential. AI experience/exposure or familiarity with AI principles and with major programming languages is preferred but not required.
