The Director of Operations and Site Leader is a leadership role within the Chemical Analysis Division reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Operations North America/Australia. This role will lead all operations and facilities in Tewksbury MA.

This position will lead and ensure all operations functions at the site is performing at peak efficiency while developing the operations and manufacturing teams and ensuring delivery of high-quality products. As the site leader the successful individual will be instrumental in connecting the global network to the site and with their business partners.
In addition to driving operational execution the Operations leader must also lead the team and site to embody the customer centric culture of Thermo Fisher Scientific exhibiting leadership and embracing our 4i values.
A day in the Life:
Develop and implement the operations strategy to meet the changing needs of the business driving ownership within the organization.
Track trend and monitor critical metrics routinely with active data analysis to target and get results for manufacturing supply chain and quality
Accountable for the overall financial performance of the operations team focusing on revenue recognition cost management working capital management and cash flow objectives.
Consistently demonstrates Role Model Leadership and assists in the development and execution of programs that drive employee engagement employee recognition.
Drives continuous improvement and standard work across all organizational elements of the site using Key Performance metrics formats and other systems of maintaining measurement and accountability. Plans and recommends and implements investment to drive cost reduction productivity improvement and process controls.
Keys to Success:
Education
- Bachelors degree in a technical field required (such as engineering) or equivalent experience.
- MBA preferred
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of management experience in a complex manufacturing environment preferably in the Electronics equipment Industry
Site manufacturing operations/business experience is preferred.
Experience in implementing continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
Strong Leadership skills in mentoring and developing strong teams
Knowledge Skills Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate broad concepts to all levels of a technical and non-technical organization
Strong analytical capability and business insight with consistent record of success in highly matrixed management environment

Demonstrated history of driving cross-functional and diverse teams to succeed. Drive with a sense of urgency.
Strong commercial competence
Proven experience and leadership with successfully carrying out the following tasks
Good understanding of global organizations (organizations with international locations/customers/etc.).
Proven track record driving continuous improvement culture.
Relevant experience in commercial or operations functions with direct industry experience preferred.
Strong financial and operations knowledge.
Ability to develop successful growth strategies and oversee execution.
ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Lean Enterprise knowledge.
Estimate 10% travel.
