ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The United Nations World Food Programme is the worlds largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide directly assisting 152 million people in 2023. The needs are still immense and the 2025 SOFI report estimates that between 638 and 720 million people corresponding to 7.8 and 8.8 percent of the global population respectively faced hunger in 2024. WFPs mission is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetime. Each year WFP works globally as anemergency responder one that is often the first on the scene in the most difficult environments. WFP also works with partners to strengthen the resilience of communities most vulnerable to hunger and malnutrition through long-term development programmes aimed at boosting food security local economies education employment and gender equality.

To contribute to a world with Zero Hunger WFP is investing in and growing private sector partnerships to reach more people. The Private Sector Partnerships Division (PSP) is responsible for engaging the private sector (corporations individuals foundations philanthropy) through high-impact partnerships in support of WFPs strategic priorities and through individual giving to build and retain support from the general public worldwide. Partnerships can be fundraising or/ and technical in nature with some bringing purely financial resources to the organization whereas other bringing in-kind support in the form of expertise and assets. PSP mobilizes funding technical assistance innovative solutions visibility and awareness to help WFP fulfil its mission and operations. PSP also provides guidance to WFP Regional Bureaus (RBs) Country Offices (COs) and HQ Technical Units on partnership development best practices as well as compliance with rules and regulations for engaging with the private sector. Joining PSP is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to co-develop and implement our new private partnerships and fundraising strategy.

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Reporting directly to the Division Deputy Director overseeing the Global Philanthropy workstream the consultant will provide highquality operational and strategic support to ensure smooth timely and professional execution of all activities related to partnerships engagements and the Deputys core functions. This includes managing agreements coordinating event logistics preparing meetings and ensuring effective followup across the portfolio. The role will also lead the endtoend organization of events linked to WFPs engagement with HighNetWorth Individuals and Family Offices including bilateral meetings fireside chats intimate gatherings highlevel dinners panels and multistakeholder events.

The consultant will work closely with the Deputy Director in all aspects of her duties interacting with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across and beyond the UN system. Success in the role will require excellent judgement discretion interpersonal skills and problemsolving capabilities combined with strong analytical thinking clear writing abilities and the capacity to synthesize discussions. Our ideal candidate is proactive creative reliable and flexible with a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm for working in a fastpaced multicultural environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational strategic and executive Support

  • Provide full-spectrum coordination and operational support to the Deputy Director and the Global Philanthropy team.
  • Review qualitycheck and manage all documents submitted to the Deputy for comments or signature including briefings correspondence talking points and press releases.
  • Support the draft of briefs speeches talking points and summaries for internal and external engagements.
  • Monitor and follow up on tasks and deliverables assigned to teams ensuring timely completion and alignment with divisional priorities.
  • Exercise sound judgement discretion and problem-solving skills to manage routine and complex matters escalating issues to the Deputy as appropriate and proposing actionable solutions.

Events and stakeholders engagement

  • Under the supervision of Deputy Director lead endtoend coordination of highlevel events linked to High-Net-Worth Individuals and Family Offices including fireside chats bilateral meetings panels intimate gatherings dinners and multi-stakeholder events.
  • Support proactive communication within the team Regional Bureaux and Global Offices including scheduling agenda preparation notetaking circulation of action points and ensuring structured followup.

Research and pipeline support

  • Conduct research assist the screening of prospects and donors support on due diligence process for the development of the global philanthropy pipeline.
  • Identify key information such as philanthropic interests engagement opportunities focus areas and peertopeer connections for highvalue prospects.
  • Support the use of WealthX and other intelligence tools for the Global Philanthropy team.

Planning documentation and knowledge management

  • Prepare internal and external presentations using PowerPoint and other tools to support meetings workshops events and divisional communications.
  • Manage files confidential materials and knowledge repositories using SharePoint ensuring a secure and wellorganized documentation system.
  • Develop and maintain key planning tools such as calendars for deadlines leadership and board meetings Executive Board engagements and strategic milestones.

Other responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as required to support the effective functioning of the Deputys Office and the Division.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Completed University degree in Political Sciences Business Management International Relations Intercultural Heritage and Identity Languages and Cultural Mediation or related disciplines.

Work history

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience working in administration management and/or team lead/executive support role

Technical expertise

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications: proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
  • Technically savvy with ability to use SharePoint and project management tool.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management research & analytical skills.

Soft skills

  • Highly organized with exceptional planning skills to deliver on commitments.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different cultures disciplines and time zones.

Language(s)

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language would be a plus (Arabic Chinese French Russian Spanish).
