Location: Hackensack NJ
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D) to provide comprehensive patient-centered care to mothers and newborns. The RN will be responsible for managing laboring patients assisting with deliveries and ensuring safe high-quality care throughout the perinatal process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess plan implement and evaluate nursing care for laboring patients
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs
- Assist physicians during labor delivery and postpartum care
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and families
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care
- Document patient care in accordance with clinical standards
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and coordinate care with the healthcare team
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and patient safety
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN License (state or compact)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Experience working in an acute care hospital setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program AHA)
Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA)
- AWHONN / EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
