Job Summary
Purpose of PositionThe Athletic Facilities Summer Staff will assist DMC Activities and Operations by performing athletic groundskeepingand facility maintenance. This position serves DMC athletics programs by ensuring that all athletic facilities arewell-maintained and prepared for practices and competitions. This position will work both independently andcollaboratively alongside the Athletic Facilities Manager DMC Operations and other Athletic Facilities Summer : Seasonal position for Summer 2026 Approximately 25-35 hours per week. Work hours will be scheduled mornings afternoons and some evenings asneeded based on the athletic event schedule. Hourly At-will employeeReports To: Athletic Facilities ManagerQualifications: Minimum age 16. Must have a valid drivers license. Must be able to stand or walk for eight hours a day frequent heavy lifting of 50 pounds climbing stoopingbending kneeling and reaching. Professing believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and committed to growing in a relationship with agreement with the Des Moines Christian School Statement of agreement with the Des Moines Christian School Biblical Convictions for Christian Education. Regularly attends and is actively involved in a church that affirms historic Christian orthodoxy (doctrine faithteaching practice) consistent with the DMC Statement of Faith through that churchs public creed confessioncore beliefs or statement of Profile: Demonstrated commitment to the mission of DMCS: Equipping minds and nurturing hearts to impact the world forChrist. Characterized by integrity and maintains confidentiality. Utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Reliable punctual and able to work in a fast-paced team environment. Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with other departments. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Provides responsive and positive support to students families and : Performance routine field maintenance on baseball/softball facilities including but not limited to leveling draggingpainting repairs etc. Assists in the field preparation for before and after practices and games. Assists in baseball and softball game day operations set-up and tear-down including tickets concessions soundequipment and other necessary items. Mows baseball and softball grass outfields in accordance with mowing schedule set by Athletic Facilities Manager. Coordinates weekly and monthly turf maintenance on synthetic field turf at Lions Field football/soccer complex. Operates equipment such as utility vehicles field rakes and lawn mowers to complete assigned tasks safely andefficiently. Supports the Athletic Facilities Manager with other projects and general maintenance tasks throughout DMCsindoor and outdoor athletic facilities.
