About the Role

This is a high-impact business-facing legal role where you will act as a trusted advisor to both HR and management. Positioned at the intersection of law people and operations you will play a key role in shaping decisions minimizing risk and enabling business growth.

You will not just interpret the law-you will translate it into practical actionable strategies that support a dynamic international logistics operation. If you enjoy working closely with stakeholders influencing decisions and taking ownership of complex legal matters this role offers both visibility and responsibility.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary legal point of contact for employment law matters including contracts policies and disputes in close collaboration with HR.
  • Support HR in decision-making employee discussions and implementation of policies.
  • Safeguard company interests in interactions with works councils and during collective labor agreement negotiations.
  • Proactively identify compliance risks and provide pragmatic business-oriented legal advice.
  • Draft review and update policy documents legal guidelines and compliance frameworks; conduct internal audits from a legal perspective.
  • Review and advise on a wide range of contracts including subcontractor sales and purchase agreements.
  • Independently negotiate terms with customers and suppliers.
  • Monitor and interpret evolving legislation ensuring the business remains compliant and well-informed.
  • Manage legal cases such as disputes claims and non-payments in collaboration with external counsel.
  • Collaborate with the broader legal team and contribute to cross-functional and ad hoc projects.

Your Profile

  • Masters degree in Law with at least 3 years of relevant experience as an in-house counsel or lawyer (or at least 5 years of equivalent experience in a similar role).
  • Preferably strong knowledge of Dutch employment law.
  • Proven ability to act as a legal business partner with a strong focus on commercial outcomes and risk management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with excellent prioritization and the ability to work independently with ownership.
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented with a focus on translating legal analysis into actionable steps.
  • Discreet reliable and trusted as a confidential advisor.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across locations in the Netherlands Belgium and the UK.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English; additional languages are an advantage.
