Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Hybrid 3 days per week in office (Denver CO San Francisco CA or Dallas TX) 25% travel is required
Duration: 12 months
Rate: $75 - $80/Hr on W2
Job Summary
The Senior Network Engineer will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while developing implementing and supporting a complex backbone. To be successful in this role the candidate being sought after is required to possess extensive experience in engineering and operations of very large-scale enterprise/service provider networks.
Key qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience as a Network Engineer with at least 3 years in a project engineering or lead role on large-scale network deployments (e.g. multisite rollouts data center builds).
- In-depth experience in TCP/IP (v4 and v6) BGP and MPLS technologies.
- Solid understanding of underlying LAN/WAN technologies and protocols.
- Experience supporting large-scale peering/transit networks with a sound knowledge of complex traffic engineering and Internet routing policies.
- Extensive hands-on experience with carrier-grade networking technologies and vendors (Cisco Juniper Arista etc.) including protocols such as BGP ISIS MPLS and IPsec. Proficiency in MacOS Linux or other variations of UNIX.
- Working knowledge of DWDM Optical Transport technologies.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills including proven abilities to adapt to dynamic project environments while able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong programming skills particularly Python with experience building applications or tools for network automation (e.g. using Netmiko NAPALM Scrapli
or REST APIs).
- Experience with automation/orchestration platforms (Ansible Terraform Jenkins) and version control (Git).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience troubleshooting complex large-scale network issues under pressure.
Description
- A leading global technology company is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join its Global Network Services team.
- The ideal candidate will work in a Network Services (GNS) team. The ideal candidate to fill the position will work in a dynamic team environment leading and executing large-scale network projects from planning through deployment and handover.
- The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on networking expertise with proven project management skills on enterprise or multi-site deployments.
- Additionally the role requires the ability to develop custom applications and automation tools to streamline network provisioning configuration and deployment processes driving efficiency and reducing
deployment times in complex environments.
- The successful candidate will need to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This engineer will need to obsess over customer experience and drive excellence in their everyday work habits through strong technical leadership and mentorship.
Education
- BS or equivalent education preferred
- Advanced industry network certifications preferred
