Job Summary

The Major Gifts Officer at Jesuit Dallas is responsible for cultivating soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of donors and prospective donors in support of Jesuits fundraising goals and initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Development the ideal candidate is self-motivated with a proven track record of successful relationship building and securing of philanthropic gifts or a successful sales record in the for-profitsector.

Essential Functions

Cultivate solicit steward and manage a portfolio of 150-200 major gift prospects including alumni parents parents of grads and others in the Jesuit community
Directly solicit gifts working with advancement staff administration faculty and volunteers to implement successful solicitation strategies for major gifts annual appeals and eventsponsorships
Conduct face-to-face and virtual donor visits; prepare solicitation materials and proposals
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in donor database
Collaborate with members of the advancement staff during fundraising/community events gift recognition reporting etc. and all activities that support the operational needs of the Advancement Office
Serve on committees as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors degree required with three or more years experience in a fundraising or sales environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven success building and maintaining trusted relationships with key stakeholders and the ability to interact with multiple constituencies
Ability to communicate the philosophy and mission of the School as part of the cultivation process;strong ties to the Jesuit community a plus
Demonstrated accomplishment in the acquisition of donor gifts and the ability to strategize formulate and close gifts
Ability to handle multiple tasks in an exciting fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of Blackbaud Raisers Edge a bonus

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Minimal travel and occasional night and weekend work may be required
Works in a stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts
May alternatively work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time while also spending a lot of hours walking and/or standing
Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
