Job Summary
Optometrist (Part-Time) Syracuse NY Skilled Nursing Facility
We are seeking a part-time or full-time Optometrist to provide optometry services at Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Syracuse area of New York. This role is built for flexibility autonomy and meaningful patient care. Youll focus on treating residents and providing routine foot care without the headaches of scheduling or billing. We handle all of that so you can stay focused on patient care.

Compensation & Schedule
- As many or as few sessions as you choose
- 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity
- $30 per patient visit
- Patients per session: As many as you want
- Session-based per patient interaction
- Administrative and scheduling support included
Responsibilities
- Perform routine eye exams (visual acuity refraction basic ocular health)
- Diagnose and manage common conditions (cataracts glaucoma macular degeneration dry eye)
- Prescribe and adjust eyeglasses as needed
- Provide basic medical eye care (infections irritation minor eye conditions)
- Prescribe and manage ophthalmic medications (eye drops etc.)
- Document visits and maintain accurate patient records
- Coordinate care with nursing staff and facility teams
- Travel between facilities (if applicable)
Requirements
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree Active state Optometry license Strong communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
