    District 196 is a Minnesota public school district of choice serving more than 29000 students and 160000 residents in the cities of Rosemount Apple Valley Eagan Burnsville Coates Empire Inver Grove Heights and Lakeville and Vermillion Township. District 196 is the third largest school district in Minnesota and among the largest employers in Dakota County with more than 4000 full- and part-time employees.     District 196 has 20 elementary schools (grades K-5); six middle schools (grades 6-8); four high schools (grades 9-12); an optional School of Environmental Studies for juniors and seniors; an Area Learning Center high school program; a K-12 special education school and a special education program serving young adults ages 18-2.2 The district also operates three learning centers that provide early childhood and Adult Basic Education services and offers extensive community education programs and classes for learners of all ages.

    RosemountElementary School is a school of approximately500students in the suburban area of Rosemount. The mission of Rosemount Elementary School and our other elementary schools is to nurture the development of responsible citizens in an increasingly interdependent and diverse Elementary School offers an interdisciplinary approach to a rigorous core curriculum. Students engage in innovative and challenging instruction designed to enhance childrens natural curiosity and their critical and creative thinking. Teachers empower students to inquire express and discover their unique abilities through a variety of experiences.     Responsibilities: The principal reports to the director of elementary education and is responsible for overall direction and administration of RosemountElementary School facilities resources and instructional programs. This includes selection supervision development and evaluation of licensed and support staff budgets capital expenditures building policies and procedures schedules and public relations. The principal is also responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment in the school.

    • MN K-12 administrative license
    • Ability to build strong relationships with students families staff and community
    • Must be an instructional leader knowledgeable in best practices for learning and instruction
    • Demonstrates an understanding of their own identity and intercultural competence
    • Leads with an equity lens to close learning and opportunity gaps and address disproportionality
    • Demonstrates ability to lead change have courageous conversations resolve conflicts and a commitment to implementing data-informed decisions
    • Commitment to developing an equitable culture systems and practices
    • Reflective receptive to feedback
    • Shows effective skills in staff motivation supervision curriculum development and site management
    • Possesses excellent public relations communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills
    • A compassionate leader with integrity
    • Ability to plan and organize work effectively and plan and supervise the work of others
    • Ability to lead school construction projects


    Desired Qualifications

    • Leadership experience in the field of education especially at the elementaryschool level
    • 5 years teaching experience preferably at the elementaryschool level
    • Proven successful experiences leading in a setting comprised of a diverse student population
    • Strong collaborator and communicator who demonstrates effective communication with diverse student teacher parent and community populations
    • A proven commitment to community service and the ability to develop community partnerships
    • Proven experience in providing meaningful recognition and support to staff and students



    Compensation / Benefits:
    Salary in the range of $152003 ï½ 162649 (based on 2025-26 school year) depending upon qualifications plus an excellent benefits program.
