As the Characterisation Technician youll contribute to JMs mission as a world leader in sustainable technology transforming energy and reducing carbon emissions for a cleaner brighter future.
As a Characterisation Technician you will help drive our goals by:
Principal accountabilities
Preparing specimens and samples.
Perform testing on innovative materials using modern testing techniques
Recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues including summarized test data and procedures.
Prepares and maintains proper testing documentation.
Participate and contribute to problem-solving projects.
Organising your own workload in collaboration of the scientists to make the most efficient use of the laboratory equipment and to meet customer tight deadlines.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
Proven experience working with some of the following techniques or equivalent; Gas sorption Thermal and mechanical testing optical microscopy electronic microscopy
Computer literate MS Package and equipment software
Previous laboratory experience.
Working knowledge of testing techniques.
A degree or relevant experience in Chemistry/Materials science/technology/Physics.
An awareness of best laboratory practices according to ISO/IEC 17025 quality standard (desirable).
