AGENCY OVERVIEW
The Jefferson County Sheriffs Office (JCSO) is in Louisville Kentucky and serves as the largest Sheriffs Office and fourth largest law enforcement agency in the state. Its approximately 250 sworn 60 civilian and 75 volunteer Reserve Deputies perform its main duties of providing court security serving court orders and collecting property taxes. The members of JCSO also serve the community by supporting the work of local charitable organizations and providing a positive presence that ensures the safety of residents of Jefferson County.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable PCSupport Technicianto provide hands-on support for the technology needs of a local law-enforcement agency. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment values reliability and can balance independent work with teamwork. This position supports mission-critical systems that help keep daily operations running smoothly.
Examples of Work
UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION:
Provides technical support for desktop and laptop PCs.
Diagnose repair and maintain workstations and related hardware.
Supports peripheral devices including printers copiers scanners and webcams.
Installs configures and troubleshoots software applications.
Researches and resolves software-related issues.
Installs and maintains device drivers.
Assists with software repairs and updates.
Maintains accurate equipment inventory.
Monitors equipment lifecycles and recommends replacements or upgrades.
Documents cyber security incidents.
Performsadditional duties as assigned/needed on a temporary basis.
Performsrelated work as required.
Physical Requirements
Abilityto lift and/or carry equipmentup to 20 lbs.
Ability to bend stoop and kneel for short periods of time.
Possesses sufficient speech and hearing necessary to communicate effectively with other individuals in person and on the phone.
The location of this position is in downtown Louisville at 515 West Market Street. This position is 100% on-site with core working hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Experience in IT operations and infrastructure within a Windows environment
5 years of experience preferred but not required
Prior experience supporting users in a professional or structured environment is a plus
Certifications
CompTIA A Network or CCNA
MCP MTA or MCSE
Technical Skills
Database and SQL knowledge
IBM AS/400 experience
HTML/HTML5 familiarity
Active Directory and Group Policy experience
SALARY/BENEFITS
The minimum salary for this position is $28.78 per hour.
Employees participate in the Non-Hazardous Duty retirement under CERS offered by the KPPA.
JCSO pays 100% medical premiums for single coverage and 90% for other plan levels.
Competitive plans for vision and dental.
Optional deferred compensation and life supplemental life insurance.
