Job Summary
AECOM Transportation Mississauga is seeking a creative energetic and highly talented Construction Project Manager Transit & Rail for our Mississauga office. Bringing past Transit and Rail experience the appropriately qualified candidate will:

Responsibilities
Provide overall project management and leadership in delivering major (multi-million or billion-dollar) transportation and rail projects.
Provide engineering technical and management support to the Transit & Freight Rail groups.
Provide assistance to other Transportation disciplines (Roads Planning Structures etc.) as project needs dictate.
Act as Project Manager on multi-disciplinary projects up to $5$10 million in fee value.
Lead and assist with the preparation of proposals design packages and tender documentation.
Apply project management principles and successfully manage multiple projects and clients.
Oversee preparation of detailed design drawings for rail and civil projects meeting client and AECOM quality standards.
Prepare and review computer 3D and 2D models including plans cross sections quantities and other deliverables.
Provide quality control on design and construction projects.
Take responsibility for technical specifications and ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
Advise designers on technical issues and engineering solutions throughout design and construction phases.
Solve technical problems and identify practical technical solutions.
Guide designers to ensure outputs meet minimum technical and quality requirements.
Resolve technical issues arising during design and construction and coordinate with stakeholders to implement solutions.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
P. Eng. designation is mandatory or eligible within 12 months
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with 4 years of experience managing transit & rail projects
Preferred Qualifications
8 years of experience in heavy civil engineering with 2 years of experience in transit and rail.
Firm understanding of AREMA Transport Canada other Railway Standards and North American freight rail standards.
Firm understanding of transit rail standards.
Prior consulting environment experience.
P. Eng. designation is an asset (or eligible).
2 years of Transit & Rail experience (Metrolinx Canadian National Railway Canadian Pacific Railway preferred).
Experience managing projects with fee values in excess of $1 million.
Excellent communication skills and willingness to get involved in planning design and construction as required.
Team player willing and eager to lead multi-disciplinary projects and proposals.
Demonstrated analytical technical and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
Experience with project financial reporting systems accounting principles spreadsheets and report writing.
Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
Willingness for periodic travel and site visits.
Experience using the Metrolinx General Engineering Instructions (GEI).
Experience using the Metrolinx Network Access Planning Tool (NAPT).
Experience understanding and applying the Metrolinx Standards & Guidelines from Metrolinx Asset Management & Maintenance (specifically for Track Civil Structures Signals & Communications etc.).
Experience reviewing contractor construction work plans and raising issues to ensure compliance with Metrolinx GEI access planning standards and guidelines.
