Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Department: Engineered Products
Location: 6200 Kestrel Road
Position Summary
Draft design and develop product for manufacturing.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Design electrical control panels and equipment from concept to completion (Power Protection & Control Equipment)
Provide technical support to the internal team
Develop cost estimates
Develop overall concepts for a new product
Interface between Engineering and Production personnel
Supervise and inspect the installation modification testing and operation of electrical systems and equipment
Minimum Requirements
Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent field
Detailed mechanical drafting experience
Proficient in Solid Works and AutoCAD or 3D modelling software i.e. Pro Engineer
Experience in mechanical design related to electrical systems and equipment
Complete understanding of drafting standards and geometric tolerances and interpretations to various standards
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask prioritize and manage time effectively
Experience in design of high-power AC & DC systems an asset
Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code & National Electrical Code as asset
Ability to travel without restrictions in Canada and the USA as needed
