Job Summary

Purpose of Position

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully insociety.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors degree of related subject from accredited university.
  2. A valid Indiana teaching license is required. The successful candidate must be certified to teach at the middle school level (grades 68) in at least one of the following disciplines: ELA Social Studies Mathematics (including Algebra 1) or Science.
  3. Experience is preferred but not necessary for hiring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plans and prepares curriculum and lessons Plans and prepares curriculum and lessons Develops and implements curriculumplans with written evidence of preparation aligning with Indiana DOE standards WCSC
    policies regulations and meets the needs of high ability/high achievingstudents.
  2. Designs differentiated instruction Prepares lessons and selects strategies materials and equipment that accommodate individual student differences in pace depth complexity and needs (including twice-exceptional learners).
  3. Demonstrates strong content expertise Possesses deep content knowledge and understanding of learning progressions before at and beyond grade level.
  4. Integrates subjects and authentic learning Integrates multiple disciplines when appropriate and designs authentic project-based learning experiences.
  5. Facilitates higher-order thinking Acts as a coach of thinking (guide) rather than solely a giver of knowledge; uses questioning to prompt analysis justification and revision of ideas.
  6. Promotes flexible problem-solving Encourages multiple strategies/methods for solving problems and values varied ways of demonstrating mastery.
  7. Assesses formatively and consistently Regularly assesses student achievement through formal and informal methods using data to inform differentiation and instruction.
  8. Manages behavior professionally Maintains classroom discipline and administers policies/regulations fairly and consistently.
  9. Collaborates with colleagues Works cooperatively with staff across content areas to plan implement and align instructional goals objectives and methods.
  10. Communicates effectively with families Maintains regular timely clear and professional communication with students and families; engages in constructive conversations about progress and challenges.
  11. Builds professional relationships Sustains positive professional interactions with colleagues students parents and community members.
  12. Seeks and uses feedback Actively solicits feedback from students families and colleagues to improve practice.
  13. Embraces growth and innovation Willing to try new strategies/methods; views change as an opportunity.
