Job Summary

Position Summary:

The OST Program Helper supports the daily operations of the Out-of-School Time (OST) program. This role assists program staff in providing a safe welcoming and engaging environment for students through supervision activity support and basic classroom tasks.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below reflect the primary duties of the position; the omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the role. Additional responsibilities that are similar related or a logical assignment to the position may be assigned as needed to meet program legal or operational needs.

  • Work under the supervision of Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers to support program activities
  • Assist with small and large group activities including games enrichment and academic support
  • Help maintain a safe respectful and supportive environment for students
  • Assist with classroom setup cleanup and organization of materials
  • Support staff in supervising students during program activities
  • Follow program expectations and directions from staff
  • Perform other duties consistent with the scope of the position as assigned

  • Current Somerville High School student
  • Valid work permit required

Position Reports to: Director(s) of the Out-of-School Time (OST) Program Program Lead Teacher or Assistant Teacher (day-to-day supervision)
