The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Womens Health located at Dunedin Hospital is a major teaching and research department within the Faculty of Medicine Dunedin. We deliver excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching and internationally recognised research.
The role Te mahi
The Department has an exciting opportunity for a part-time fixed term position as an Assistant Research Fellow working on a Division of Health Sciences Tairanga funded project Evaluating a novel mode of rural midwifery service delivery.
This is an opportunity to develop research skills with the support of the project leader by contributing to the project including setting up organising and conducting quantitative interviews quantitative and qualitative data analysis preparation of draft funding applications contributing to the authorship of reports and academic articles for publication and working with community/iwi health partnerships.

Candidates will ideally have:
Postgraduate health research background.
Strong organisational skills.
Experience in qualitative research including interviewing and data analysis.
Show proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team.
Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

This is variable hours part-time (0.4FTE) fixed term (for six months) position based in Ōtepoti Dunedin.
The variable hours allow for the workflow for different project deliverables. Hours of work are negotiable with the successful candidate(s). Timesheets will be completed for hours worked. Two positions at 0.2 FTE may be possible if suitable applicants apply.
The salary for this role is $74 765 per annum (pro-rata).
