Job Summary

Parliamentary Service is recruiting four senior leaders to strengthen delivery and consistency across our digital group. Together these roles ensure Parliament is supported by reliable secure and wellgoverned digital services as we prepare for the demands of an election year.

Mō te tūnga About the role:

Reporting to the CIO youll lead resilient secure IT infrastructure and operations that underpin Parliaments digital services. Youll lead internal teams and suppliers and oversee a small architecture function including the IT blueprint to support coherent decisionmaking and investment.

Youll also contribute as a core member of the Parliamentary IT leadership team shaping direction and delivery across the group.

  • Set direction for technology operations and infrastructure aligned to organisational goals.
  • Lead and develop highperforming teams building capability and accountability.
  • Own operational performance reliability risk and incident response.
  • Lead strategic supplier partnerships and ensure contracts deliver value.
  • Maintain architectural coherence and longterm infrastructure planning.
  • Strengthen governance standards performance measures and reporting.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Contribute to the wider leadership of IST shaping direction culture and delivery.

Youre an experienced operations leader who is comfortable owning outcomes in complex environments. You bring a calm practical approach to risk reliability and decisionmaking. Youll also bring:

  • Extensive experience leading IT operations and infrastructure.
  • Strong people leadership capability with a clear accountability mindset.
  • Sound judgement in balancing risk priorities and service reliability.
  • Experience operating within governance and assurance frameworks.
  • Proven capability to influence at senior levels and operate as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • The ability to obtain NZSIS Secret security clearance.

This role is based on the Parliamentary precinct. Being present on site is an important part of building relationships supporting teams and working effectively in the Parliamentary environment and regular inoffice presence is therefore expected.
