We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Facilities Manager to oversee the site health and safety and physical infrastructure of a well-regarded Catholic Secondary School in Bristol. The Role
As the Facilities Manager you will be the custodian of the schools physical assets. You will lead a site team to ensure the buildings are not only functional and compliant but also reflect the pride and standards of the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Compliance: Managing all statutory testing (fire safety legionella asbestos) and maintaining the schools Health & Safety policy.
Contractor Management: Procuring and overseeing external trades from cleaners and caterers to major construction firms.
Project Management: Planning and executing small-to-medium scale renovation projects and capital improvements.
Budgeting: Managing the site and maintenance budget effectively to ensure maximum value for the school.
Security & Lettings: Overseeing school security protocols and managing out-of-hours community use of the facilities.

About You
We are looking for a hands-on leader who can balance long-term strategic planning with the day-to-day fix-it requirements of a busy secondary school.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Holds a recognized Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH).
Has proven experience in facilities or estate management preferably within a large public sector or educational setting.
Possesses a solid understanding of building trades (plumbing electrical or carpentry).
Is a strong communicator who can liaise effectively with governors staff and external partners.
