Support Worker Thorpe St Andrews Norwich
Location: Thorpe St Andrews Norwich
Hours: Part Time 15 hours per week
Pay: 13.00 per hour 10% weekend enhancement
Overtime: Paid at 2.50 per hour
Responsible to: Service Manager
Purpose of the Role
To work as part of a team to enable the people we support to lead the lives they choose. You will provide personalised personcentred support that encourages choice control and independence and carry out duties in line with individual support plans to achieve agreed outcomes.
About the Service
FitzRoy Supported Living in Thorpe St Andrews supports people with learning and physical disabilities to live independently within their community. The role involves supporting people both in their home and to access activities appointments and social opportunities.
A full UK manual driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive accessible vehicles as part of supporting people in the community.
Shift Patterns
- 07:00 14:30
- 14:00 21:30
- 14:45 22:15
Includes alternate weekend working in line with the needs of the people we support.
Main Responsibilities
Provide Personal Support
- Enable and support people with personal care and hygiene in line with individual support plans
- Support people with cooking shopping and household tasks
- Administer medication in line with policies and individual support plans
- Support people to access appropriate healthcare and make informed decisions about their health
- Respond appropriately to and report any medical concerns or emergencies
Promote Independence and Choice
- Support people to make their own decisions and exercise choice and control
- Enable access to leisure social and community activities including shopping and days out
- Encourage the development of daily living and life skills
- Support people to live healthy balanced and fulfilling lives
Empower the People We Support
- Support people to express their wishes views and preferences
- Involve people in decisions about how their support is delivered
- Promote dignity respect and independence at all times

What Were Looking For
- A caring patient and respectful approach
- A commitment to personcentred practice and FitzRoy values
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts including alternate weekends
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Willingness to work as part of a team and support people in the community
Previous care experience is welcome but not essential; full training and support will be provided in line with FitzRoy standards.
