Job Summary
Position: General Warehouse
Work Location: Yuma AZ 85365
Payrate: $17.75/hr
Duration: 3 Months role with high chances of extension/conversion
Shift: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
Dress Code: casual
Job Description:
Responsible for supporting warehouse operations by performing a variety of tasks including loading unloading order picking shipping and material handling. Ensuring products are accurately prepared for pickup or delivery secured for transport and handled in a safe efficient and dependable manner.
Responsibilities:
- Loads unloads sorts picks stocks stages and transports materials throughout the warehouse and yard.
- Prepare items for shipment or customer pickup by securely packaging materials using shrink wrap strapping or other protective methods.
- Verifies product accuracy and condition before staging or shipping.
- Installs protective devices such as bracing or padding to prevent damage during transport.
- Operates forklifts or other material handling equipment to move goods safely and efficiently.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Assists customers installers or subcontractors by fulfilling orders or locating materials.
- May drive company vehicles to pick up or deliver materials as needed.
Work Environment
- Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness such as temperature extremes moving machinery loud noises and fumes.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment.
- Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
- Ability to make repetitive movements such as using a 10-key or calculator bending or squatting.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
- 0 - 2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Basic understanding of shipping receiving and material handling procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented fast-paced environment.
