Job Summary

- Level 1 Trauma Center Academic Medical Center
- Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
- Position Details:
- Roles designated for Adult or Neonatal/Pediatric patient populations
- Assignments in ICU or Medical/Surgical floors based on department needs
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience required
- First-time travelers considered
- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Varies by workload: post-surgical pneumonia COPD asthma ED patients
- Licensure/Certifications:
- NICU/Peds RT: NC license RRT BLS PALS NRP required (CRT not preferred but acceptable)
- Skills Required:
- Critical care experience required
- Preferred: Experience in Level 1 trauma center or high acuity organizations
- Department Support:
- Lead Therapists on each shift (Adult and Pediatric)
- Strong teamwork culture
- Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- Preferred experience with: Servo U Servo Air The Vest Volara Aerogen Heated High Flow cough assist
- Pediatrics: Preferred experience with HFJV and HFOV
- Floating:
- Assignments based on experience and unit needs
- Orientation:
- NEO and 1-2 days departmental orientation
- Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- No on-call required
- Holiday expectation: Work 75% of holidays
- RTO: Manager approval required
- Shift times: 06:30 19:00 or 18:30 07:00
- Scheduling cycle: Every 6 weeks
