Job Summary
Laboratory Technologist
Onsite Montclair CA area
This role requires candidates who are currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and C2C arrangements are not accepted. Non active CalPERS only.
Seeking a Laboratory Technologist for a contract position with potential for extension or direct hire. This entry-level role supports laboratory compliance and water quality testing through sample collection preparation and routine chemical analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chemical and physical tests related to water quality monitoring
- Prepare reagents standards and laboratory materials
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware
- Assist with chemical waste disposal and laboratory safety procedures
- Maintain quality assurance/quality control records and documentation
- Perform routine laboratory analyses and support reporting activities
- Assist with laboratory supply ordering and inventory
- Support training of students or new staff on laboratory procedures
Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of relevant laboratory experience
- Completion of at least 24 college semester units in chemistry microbiology or related field
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Basic chemistry or microbiology principles
- Good Laboratory Practices and laboratory safety
- Algebra and basic data analysis
- Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment learn new techniques multitask and communicate effectively
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related field
- Experience working in a drinking water or environmental laboratory
