Your Role
Responsible for portfolio management and profitable development of the Casualty lines of business including Life Sciences & Marine Services Liability within New Zealand.
This position will operate in a semi-autonomous manner to achieve desired results for NZ.
As technical skills and knowledge develop more autonomy shall be assumed. The scope will eventually extend to include greater underwriting authority across all Casualty products.
Your Responsibilities:
- Reviews analyse accepts or rejects risks and renewals in Casualty lines of business within a specialised line of business underwriting authority.
- Assist with portfolio analysis and management of the Casualty lines using effective portfolio management systems.
- Assist with maintenance of the Casualty portfolio including collation of necessary business reports.
- Provide advice and consultation to underwriting manager in areas of specialised knowledge.
- Visit producers clients and promotes Chubb coverages products and services. Maintain and build relationship with producers to obtain necessary underwriting information promote satisfactory service and to encourage the submission of targeted business.
- Provide technical and underwriting support to NZ Casualty Manager where required.
- Assists management in the development of budget plans and strategies to achieve profitable growth in designated lines of Casualty business.
- Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Underwriting/marketing proficiency in Casualty lines of business gained through two years of applicable experience in at least two of the following areas: - underwriting/marketing sales/marketing product management and financial analysis.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with producers customers and all levels of the organisation.
Organisational capabilities to work independently and utilise appropriate automated tools with minimal administrative support. - Demonstrated skill in PC software Email Microsoft Office (Word Excel) WordPerfect and new software as it applies to the position.
- Ability to implement general business procedures and practices as evidenced by completion of a business-related tertiary curriculum management training programs or relevant business experience.
- Works to achieve profit and increase the long-term value of the business.
- Understands how trends and emerging opportunities apply to customers and competitors in order to sell products and services.
- Anticipates recognises and creates opportunities to grow our business.
- To create develops and sustains positive personal relationships with outside parties who have the potential to impact our business.
- Exhibits at all times a drive for success leadership persistence and initiative and a sense of ownership to business objectives.
