A well-established financial institution is looking for a Remittance Analyst to support its Transaction Banking Services operations. This role sits within a fast-paced banking environment handling daily payment remittance and clearing activities across internal and external stakeholders.
The position
This is a contract role for an experienced operations professional with strong remittance and payments processing experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day inward and outward remittance processing payment controls and support for transaction banking activities.
The role & responsibilities
- Execute and process daily inward and outward remittance transactions.
- Handle daily inward and outward clearing items including cheques autopays and FPS transactions.
- Process customer cheque deposits and related payment items.
- Liaise with Front Office and Agency Middle Office on payment irregularities and obtain approvals when required.
- Process transaction banking items including CNY payments for correspondent banking activities.
- Perform scanning and uploading of client POA and account documentation into internal systems.
- Carry out account posting and daily reconciliation of Nostro outstanding breaks.
- Handle inquiries from customers Front Office Middle Office and correspondent banks relating to payments.
- Prepare daily and monthly reports for internal reporting and control purposes.
- Perform daily payment processing controls and support UAT system upgrades and drill tests with HKICL when required.
- Support ad-hoc projects and additional duties as assigned.
The requirements
- University graduate preferred; diploma or above acceptable.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in cheques remittances or payment processing.
- Strong knowledge of payment processing including FPS and related remittance operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A good team player who can also work independently.
- Good command of written and spoken English; Mandarin proficiency and other languages are a plus.
- IT literate with a logical mindset and strong attention to detail.
