Infracon Constructions HSV Division provides specialized Hydrovac and Airvac services across Western Canada with a strong presence in Alberta and British Columbia. Our strategic locations enable us to mobilize quickly bringing modern equipment and skilled crews directly to your site.

We are seeking a Hydrovac / Airvac Operatora Hydrovac / Airvac Operator in our Edmonton Location.

Successful candidate(s) will participate in safety meetings hazard assessment (JHA FLHAetc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Hydrovac / Airvac trucks in a safe productive manner in accordance with all local laws and regulations to / from work sites and client locations.
  • Provide clear direction guidance and support to Swampers and Labourers regarding the safe efficient and productive operation of the Hydrovac / Airvac equipment.
  • Obey all posted speed limits and reduce speed according to road weather visibility conditions while operating your vehicle.
  • Perform pre-trip en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems equipment and accessories such as tires lights turning signals brakes and monitor vehicle performance.
  • Complete ELD and/or drivers logbook & daily vehicle inspection maintenance and repair reports accident or incident reports.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles including greasing and washing truck
  • On a daily basis complete LEMs electronically through company provided Tablets
  • Submit expense statements and fuel card usage that include associated receipts in accordance with expense reimbursement procedures and the Fuel Card Policy.
  • Represent the company its clients and all stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner
  • Other responsibilities to support the success of the company and its operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must have a valid drivers licence for the appropriate vehicle you operate and ensure you are in compliance with all local laws and regulations.
  • Must be able to safely operate vehicles over 5000 kgs.
  • Must have the sufficient mechanical ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment and vehicle is ideal.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Capable of working independently and demonstrates a high level of professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to being a safety leader
  • Drug and Alcohol testing as required

Safety Requirements:

  • Basic PPE to be supplied by the worker are boots hi-visibility vest hardhat and glasses. Infracon will provide any specialized PPE.
  • Drug and Alcohol testing as required
  • Required Safety Certifications: Fall Protection Ground Disturbance and H2S Alive
  • Safety certifications such as First Aid CSTS and Confined Space are considered an asset

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • The Hydrovac / Airvac Operator works outdoors a majority of time and conditions may include very cold or hot temperatures wind flying dust and uneven ground.
  • The position requires frequent standing walking twisting bending reaching and kneeling.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights.
