The Opportunity
This position involves teaching Art across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of Key Stage 5 teaching depending on experience. You will deliver engaging lessons that encourage experimentation artistic exploration and independent thinking.
The art department benefits from dedicated studio space and display areas where student work is regularly showcased. You will be encouraged to help develop enrichment opportunities such as exhibitions themed projects and cross-curricular creative work.
Teachers at the school are supported through collaborative planning and shared departmental resources allowing for consistency and creativity in lesson delivery.
What You Will Be Doing
Your work in this role will include:
Delivering structured and imaginative Art lessons across assigned year groups
Supporting students in developing drawing painting and mixed-media techniques
Teaching art theory alongside practical application
Encouraging creativity while maintaining clear learning objectives
Monitoring student progress through marking coursework support and feedback
Preparing students for GCSE-level art coursework and final submissions
Maintaining an organised and inspiring classroom environment
Supporting whole-school creative events and exhibitions
Promoting safe and responsible use of art materials
What We Are Looking For
Suitable candidates will demonstrate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Fine Art Art & Design or a related subject
Experience teaching Art within a secondary school setting
Ability to motivate students of varying artistic ability
Good classroom management and organisational skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular art activities
Respect for the values and ethos of a Catholic educational environment
