Job Summary

Project Overview

Client is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead its Global Web Engineering team. This role focuses on building and scaling enterprise-level customer-facing web platforms used by millions of users worldwide including and related digital experiences.

The position sits within the U.S. Consumer and Digital Technology (USCDT) organization which drives innovation across digital experience engineering AI/ML marketing technology and enterprise platforms. The role combines strong engineering leadership with deep technical expertise to deliver scalable high-performance web applications.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple engineering teams delivering large-scale web platforms
Define and execute the web engineering roadmap and strategic direction
Collaborate with Product Design Business and Technology stakeholders to drive delivery
Build mentor and retain high-performing engineering teams
Establish engineering best practices standards and development frameworks
Drive continuous improvement using engineering metrics and performance insights
Ensure alignment across architecture tools and delivery methods
Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Influence product direction with a strong product and customer-focused mindset
Act as a change agent to improve engineering processes and delivery models

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
10 years of experience building large-scale customer-facing software products
5 years of leadership experience managing engineering teams
5 years of hands-on experience developing modern web applications
Proven experience delivering enterprise-level web platforms in Agile environments
Experience leading distributed (remote and co-located) teams

Technical & Soft Skills

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in JavaScript Java and modern frameworks (React Angular Vue)
Experience with web technologies: Redux Flux GraphQL REST APIs
Expertise in scalable web architecture and system design
Experience with databases such as MongoDB and Couchbase
Familiarity with tools/platforms: Akamai Adobe Experience Manager Adobe Analytics Google Analytics
Cloud platforms: AWS GCP or Azure
CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions Jenkins CircleCI
Microservices architecture and API gateway patterns
Performance engineering observability and backend optimization
Automated testing strategies (unit integration end-to-end)
