Job Summary
Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Supervisor: Executive Director for Special Services

Job Summary:
To provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities who are eligible for the services.
Qualifications:
- State License (SC) and National Boards License (NBCOT)
- Prior experience in pediatric or school-based setting preferred
Essential Duties:
- Consults with teachers other appropriate staff medical personnel and parents to assess students needs and to recommend materials equipment techniques accommodations and modifications for students who qualify
- Conducts initial evaluations to determine need for services to meet special education/504 requirements
- Develops Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives for occupational therapy to enable students to benefit from their educational programs
- Attend IEP/504 committee meetings as needed
- Progress monitor goals and objectives
- Provide occupational therapy services to eligible students
- Maintains daily log documentation of therapy for individual students
- Submits Medicaid documentation for reimbursement
- Participates in and maintains training required to conduct assistive technology evaluations
- Serves as a member of the District assistive technology team and assists with scheduling evaluations consultation sessions and committee meetings to review evaluation results
- Trains staff in appropriate use of techniques materials and equipment for individual students
- Attends professionally related activities to maintain current knowledge in the field of occupational therapy and educational services
- Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistant as required through licensing rules
- Supervisor may assign other duties
