Summary:
The Paraprofessional will assist in the strategic planning and delivery of educational services to ABE/GED Math students. The duties of the Paraprofessional are multifaceted and can include secretarial and classroom support functions. The Paraprofessional must exercise good judgment be a multitasker exercise initiative be knowledgeable of all education programs and exhibit professionalism.
Responsibilities:
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts adult education student registration and testing.
Supports specific secretarial functions to assist the Administrator in meeting deliverables.
Initiates or provides backup for payroll bookkeeping and financial aid at the district office and/or school site level.
Prepares various reports summaries payroll travel maintenance requests and other required documents as directed.
Acts as the main substitute for teachers.
Monitors and assists with all student instructional platforms.
Assists with behavior management as needed.
Provides entry-level assessments for students.
Performs basic computer skills such as keyboarding spreadsheets and operating instructional software to assist student achievement.
Maintains an inventory of supplies answers the telephone and takes appropriate messages.
Maintains childcare credentials and job functions if assigned to family literacy childcare program.
Assists with ongoing staff development training.
Performs any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
Education: A high school diploma vocational certificate or GED. Degree or formal training in a related field such as childcare or prior experience in education preferred.
Experience: One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in education childcare or related field preferred.
Language Skills: Reads and comprehends simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Adds and subtracts two digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s. Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Applies understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deals with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of relevant and current computer software programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical Activities: Standing walking sitting climbing bending stooping kneeling crouching crawling handling keyboarding talking and hearing.
Lifting Demands: Up to 55 pounds.
Reaching Activities: Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.
Environmental Conditions: Noise Intensity: 4 loud.
