Position Overview
We are seeking areliable and compassionate Personal Support Worker (PSW)with experience supportingchildren with autism.
This role focuses on adaily transition period supporting a child from theirschool bus to their day camp program ensuring a safe calm and positive experience.
This is an urgent position and we are looking to hire as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet the child at their designated bus drop-off location
- Safely support and supervise transition to day camp
- Provide emotional reassurance and structure during transitions
- Use autism-informed strategies to reduce anxiety and support routine
- Maintain clear communication with the family and care team
Schedule
- Weekday shifts (short consistent daily schedule)
- Timing based on bus drop-off and camp start time
Additional hours may be availableif the caregiver is a strong fit with the client and family.
Requirements (Must-Have)
- ValidPSW certification(or equivalent relevant experience)
- Proven experience working withchildren with autism
- Validdrivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the last 6 months)
- ValidFirst Aid & CPR certification
- Up-to-date immunization records including:
- Negative TB test
- Diphtheria & Tetanus
- MMR (Measles Mumps Rubella)
- Varicella / Zoster
- Hepatitis B
- Optional: Flu & COVID-19 vaccinations
- WHMIS certification
- Can be completed after hiring if not currently obtained
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting behavioural needs and transitions
- Familiarity with ABA or other autism support strategies
- Experience in home care community care or school environments

Remuneration: $20-$25 /HR
