Position Purpose:
In accordance withthe Mission and GuidingBehaviors;theEmergency Department Technicianwill provide patient care in an atmosphere sensitive to each persons physical emotionalsocialand spiritual needs. Functions within the standards policiesproceduresand guidelines of the Organization.
This Emergency Department Technicianposition willbeworking on night shift at Mount Carmel Grove City three 12-hour shifts per week from 7pm - 7:30am with rotating weekends and holidays.
WhatYouWillDo:
Responds to patient needsin a timely manner
Transportation and patient escort
Performs visual acuity eyeirrigationsand equipment setups
Performs phlebotomy and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
Followsappropriate protocolsandparticipatesas a team member for trauma stroke heart and sepsis alerts and resuscitation.
Performs wound care and practices sterile technique when appropriate
Performs suture and staple removal excluding facial region.
Performs foley care and collects specimens.
Performs EKG
Performs Phlebotomy
Collects and documents patient signs weight procedures performed
Reports observations and condition changes to RN and/or physicianin a timely in vital signs symptoms
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalency
Licensure / Certification: Successful completion of an approved course(s) which includes basic patient care skills EKG phlebotomy and BLSrequired.
Experience:Previouspatient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred.
