  • PERSONAL SERVICE AGREEMENT (temporary) Mentor Pool

    Southern Oregon Education Service Districts School Improvementdepartmenthas need for the professional services of a Service Provider for the 2025-2026 school year with particular training ability knowledge and experience. SOESD is looking for an individual service providerwith the following unique qualifications: (preference will be given to those with secondary experience)
    1. Bachelors degree or higher in education or other acceptable educational training.
    2. Valid Oregon teaching license with appropriate specialty or subject area endorsement.
    3. Five or more years of successful teaching or administrative experience.
    4. Ability to gather and analyze data intended to elevate best practices elicit self-reflection monitor progress measure impact and inspire continuous improvement.
    5. Willingness to engage in continuous professional learning.
    6. Effective organization and time management.
    7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of the educational profession.
    8. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive mutually beneficial relationships.
    The following represents the summary of duties that the professional services will be required to provide:
    1. Instructional mentoring for beginning teachers and/or administrators to engage support and advance their professional learning and practice.
    2. Support novice teachers and/or administrators to improve instructional effectiveness student outcomes and increase retention rates of new educators.
    3. Apply high-quality culturally responsive instructional mentoring and/or collaborative coaching strategies to support the professional learning and growth of new teachers and/or school administrators.
    4. Utilize knowledge of student content standards teaching pedagogy and professional teaching standards.
    5. Design and facilitate professional development for teachers and administrators.
    6. Utilize formative assessment tools to promote teacher learning and development.
    7. Advocate for the safety health and well-being of novice educators and their students as necessary.
    8. Utilize a variety of mentoring tools to document conversations and professional growth.
    9. Maintain confidentiality and model ethical professional behavior in alignment with TSPCs Ethical Educator Agreement Professional Teaching Standards and/or Oregon Educational Leadership Standards.
    10. Gather data provide feedback and engage in collaborative discussions to continuously improve systems of support to new educators.
    Projected Service Date(s): Based on the assigned school district calendar

    Rate of pay: $50.40/hour

    Estimated Travel Expenses: Per SOMC Mentor Consortium established reimbursement rate.
    (Appropriate agency procedures must be followed to receive reimbursement for mileage and lodging.)
    *In specific cases partial mileage reimbursement is available for mentors serving our most rural schools.


    THIS IS AN EXEMPT POSITION AND OVERTIME IS NOT APPLICABLE.


    This agreement can be terminated by either party upon 14 days written notice to the other party.
