About the Role

At Baxter payroll is a critical operation not a side activity.

We are hiring a hands-on Payroll Manager to own secure and continuously improve endtoend Belgian payroll across all legal entities. This role is for a true payroll expert who thrives on accuracy compliance deadlines and complexity.

You will be the Belgian payroll authority within Baxter: accountable for flawless execution regulatory compliance and expert guidance to employees leadership and social partners.

Your Mission

You own Belgian payroll from A to Z.

From monthly processing to audits from tax and social legislation to systems and controls you ensure every employee is paid accurately on time and in full compliance while strengthening payroll governance and robustness.

This is a payroll-first role with team leadership and operational excellence at its core.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Ownership & Compliance

Own endtoend Belgian payroll processing across multiple sites and entities
Guarantee accuracy timeliness and compliance with Belgian social tax and labor legislation
Act as payroll risk owner: anticipate legislative changes assess impacts and implement updates
Lead payroll audits controls reconciliations and reporting (ONSS fisc internal audits)
Manage relationships with payroll providers authorities and external partners

Payroll Operations & Systems

Drive payroll efficiency through process optimization automation and system improvements
Ensure payroll data integrity security and GDPR compliance
Act as key contributor to payrollrelated HRIS initiatives (Workday / payroll tools)
Reduce manual work and strengthen controls through smart process design

Team Leadership

Lead develop and coach a dedicated payroll team
Build strong payroll expertise accountability and knowledge sharing
Ensure continuity documentation and business resilience

Employee & Social Relations Interface

Serve as expert point of contact for complex employee payroll questions
Represent payroll in constructive social dialogue with unions and employee representatives
Provide clear factual and compliant payroll guidance in sensitive contexts

What You Bring

8 years of handson Belgian payroll experience ideally in a complex or multinational environment
Proven expertise in Belgian payroll legislation social security taxation and labor law
3 years of payroll team leadership experience
Strong experience with payroll systems and HRIS tools
Comfortable working with unions and social bodies from a payroll/compliance perspective
Highly detailoriented analytical and deadlinedriven
Fluent in French and English (Dutch is a plus)
Bachelors degree in HR Finance Accounting or similar (payroll certifications are a plus)
