Job Overview
The Field Service Apprentice will support and learn from experienced Field Service Mechanics in both shop and field environments. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in crane and heavy equipment maintenance by gaining hands-on experience in diagnosing repairing and maintaining various types of equipment.
This position is based in theGonzales/Baton Rouge Louisiana region and will require travel to job sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Keeps shop and maintenance area clean and within OSHA requirements.
- Support and encourage continuous improvements of the companys processes including safety programs
- Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures
Requirements
- 02 years of experience in the crane heavy equipment diesel or related mechanical field or completion of a diesel/heavy equipment technical program
- Basic understanding of diesel engines hydraulics electrical systems or mechanical systems preferred
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills in heavy equipment repair
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn service-related systems
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record preferred
Preferred Requirements
- Diesel or heavy equipment technical school certification
- Exposure to crane or heavy equipment industry
- Familiarity with tools and basic mechanical practices
