Purpose
Working in the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) area of ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) Onshore Wind Solar & Battery Storage business you will support improvement project development and delivery works providing technical support to operational staff across O&M in achieving business goals. You will provide and manage technical support to the O&M Field Teams on both emerging and ongoing technical issues supporting technical upgrades and improvement projects.
Managing leading and providing technical support primarily on PLC and automation communications control and instrumentation systems to the business you will assist the O&M Head of Technical Operations in the management generation and review of contractors proposals the management and supervision of consultants and contractors influencing O&M requirements in new control system design of emerging technologies O&M user requirements of Balance of Plant (BOP) control systems infrastructure and their instrumentation control and automation interfaces.
You will be working as part of the O&M Technical Services team which will require regular periods where you will be mobile across operational sites across the UK as required by operational planning and technical interventions/projects.
Responsibilities
Deputising for the O&M Head of Technical Operations as required to support the business you will manage and support the logging categorising and development of solutions to emerging and ongoing instrumentation control and automation technical issues.
Leading and participating in the identification specification and assessment of solutions to O&M technical challenges you will contribute to the delivery of an agreed set of technical schedules for inclusion within turbine service and maintenance agreements whilst leading and participating in the technical review of tenders for service and maintenance major component installation and supply chain related contracts.
Managing day to day (on/off site) expert technical services in support of renewable generation projects you will also support the delivery and review of the Control and Instrumentation related Asset Management plans liaising and coordinating with external suppliers and contractors to ensure delivery of contracted inspection and technical tasks are completed to SPR standards.
Leading on and adhering to technical strategies as defined by ScottishPower Renewables contributing to continuous improvement of such strategies. You will be required to identify and manage technical risks pertaining to SPR assets and operations supporting delivery of projects to mitigate identified risks as required.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Iberdrola Global Technical Services Engineers and Development and Construction Engineers to deliver technical excellence you will ensure all technical recommendations/advice is supported by due diligence to analyse new upgrade opportunities in the market.
Actively promoting positive H&S behaviours and competencies within the O&M Technical Operations team to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained you will also act as coach/mentor within the O&M Technical Operations team on items relating to Control Instrumentation and Automation fostering open communications and coordinating with other discipline teams to support cross-functional collaboration.
What youll bring
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate as minimum your Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline with your proven track record of work across C&I related project works.
With demonstrable technical support capability and experience you will be IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software.
Possessing knowledge and experience of Health Safety and Environmental legislation associated with engineering projects you will be experienced in assessing control system and associated LV electrical design delivering and managing several C&I related engineering projects.
A UK driving license and being prepared to work away from base office location is required.
