About the position
ORLEN Upstream Norway AS (OUN) is an oil and gas company that is growing and we are searching for a Principal/Senior Reservoir Engineer.
The successful candidate will report to the Subsurface North Manager however the role as Principal/Senior Reservoir Engineer includes responsibilities and tasks across the whole OUN portfolio. Subsurface is responsible for 23 producing and 7 sanctioned developing assets across 6 OUN core areas; Skarv Ormen Lange Valemon/Kvitebjørn Yggdrasil Sleipner and Tommeliten.
Responsibilities include production forecastingof existing assets identifyingadditionalupside opportunities to unlock IOR/IGRpotential and follow-up of production performance andsubsequentreserves impact during the start-up ofsanctionedprojects. Over thenext 12 months the SubsurfaceDepartmentwillbe responsible forfollowingthe drilling ofupto35production wells takingnewdevelopments through internal projectdecision gates and updating a number ofgeo- and simulation departmentis also responsible for providingreservoir engineering supportforexploration(APA farm-in drill & drop decisions)andbusiness developmentopportunities.
Thesuccessful candidatewill beexpected toperformfield evaluations through the development of in-house models and the review of operator OUNreservoir engineeris required toplan review andfollow up production and infill drilling activities and torepresentand convey OUNs opinionin license committees. The roleis responsible formaintainingareserves and resource overview ofassets and contributing tothe evaluation of M&A opportunities to deliver production growth targets within OUNs portfolio.

Accountability& Main Tasks
- Recommend technical input to SubsurfaceManagers
- Support Reservoir Engineering Functional LeadforOUN in:
- Internal Reserves Reporting
- Reserves Based Lending (RBL)
- Responsible for reservoir management including well production monitoring and reservoir performance forOUNs producing assets
- Recommendreservoir engineeringrequirements to support Asset and Exploration managers
- Developmaintain andquality control reservoir models for all producing fields and developments
- Provide support to drilling activities field development drilling plans and field data gathering and reservoir monitoringprograms
- Formulate drainage strategies for fields in the development phase
- Act as company expert and provideinsightsfor integrated field development planning
- Identify mature review rank and promote reservoir development projects based oncross-department inputthrough the OUN opportunity hopper
- Define the technical scope of fieldlaboratory and analytical work to be performed in-houseby third partiesand/or by ORLEN Group
- Review and oversee subsurface data acquisition and quality control in areas such as fluid sampling pressure monitoring transienttesting and PVT analysis
- Mentor less experienced reservoir engineers in the Reservoir Engineering team
- Establish andmaintainstrong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders peers and advisers. Participatein external meetings and industry events and represent OUN as member in license committees and regulatory bodies where appropriate
Qualifications
Education
- Masters degree inPetroleum Engineeringor a relevant discipline is preferred
Experience
- 8yearsof development andreservoir engineeringexperience within an E&P Company
- Experience working on both operated and non-operated assets
- Experience working in license committees with the ability to act as a company expert to influence decisions
- Relevant experience may compensate for a lack of formal education
Languagerequirements
- Fluency in English both oral and written
Technicalrequirements
- Expert knowledge of relevant reservoir engineering tools and software
- Deep understanding of technological advances and industry best practices in reservoir engineering
- Ability to influence in Full Economic Reviews
- Comprehensive expertise of all reservoir engineering disciplines involved in field appraisal development and production (PVT SCAL well lift well test analysis well logging hydraulic fracturing well operations)
- Expert knowledge of production engineering geology & commercial considerations including familiarity with Economic Reviews
- Well-established industry network
- Good analytical skills
- Proficient in IT and engineering software tools
